abstract |
A process is disclosed for manufacturing N-methyl-N-phenylaminoacrolein of formula (I) n n n which comprises reacting N-methylformanilide and an alkyl vinyl ether of formula (III) n n n wherein R is a C 3 -C 4 alkyl, said process being characterized in that the reaction between N-methylformanilide and said alkyl vinyl ether of formula (III) is carried out in the presence of phosgene, diphosgene or triphosgene in a solvent selected from dioxane, acetonitrile and/or chlorobenzene. |
