abstract The present development is a catalyst for the low temperature catalytic oxidation of methane in the presence of hydrogen and water. The catalyst comprises a high surface area alumina, tin oxide and at least one noble metal selected from the group consisting of palladium, platinum, rhodium or a combination thereof, washcoated on a monolithic support. The resultant catalyst is more durable than prior art catalysts.
