abstract The invention provides novel hypoallergenic and non-irritant medical skin care formulations being water-in-oil emulsions. The formulations are free from ingredients with a known allergenic potential, such as fragrances, preservatives, colorings, plant extracts, PEGs, cetylstearyl alcohol, lanolin alcohol, lower alcohols and proteins, thus being particularly suitable for patients with sensitive dry skin. The skin care formulations of the invention are useful in the prophylaxis and treatment of dry, sensitive skin or in the therapy or therapy support of eczematous or psoriatic skin and exhibit favorable sensorial properties. The invention furthermore provides a method of manufacturing the novel hypoallergenic and non-irritant skin care formulations.
