A gas generator comprising two or three or more chambers partitioned by two or three or more partition plates, gas generants filled in at least one of the chambers, and gas flow rate regulating means comprising a plurality of holes formed in each of the partition plates, wherein there are provided two or three or more gas flow rate regulating means located on a pathway through which gas generated from the gas generants is discharged from a combustion chamber to an outside of the gas generator, and wherein a second smallest opening area B of each of the gas flow rate regulating means is determined by the relation with A, where “A” is the smallest opening area of the gas flow rate regulating means. |
