abstract To provide a method for checking bores in or edges on an object of measurement, and, in particular, for recognizing burrs, by means of which bores can be checked in a simple and accurate way, it is proposed that a prepared object of reference be scanned by a distance sensor and in correlation therewith the object of measurement be scanned by a further distance sensor and a comparison be made of the measurement signals of the two distance sensors.
