By reacting trialkyl aluminum (AlR 3 ) with 2-position substituted 8-quinolinol (q′H) at a mole ratio of 1:2, an AlRq′ 2 -type aluminum compound having a specified structural formula is manufactured. The resulting compound is further reacted with an active hydrogen-containing organic compound to obtain a derivative such as an Alq′ 2 q type derivative (wherein q represents 8-quinolinolato ligand and q′ represents 2-position substituted 8-quinolinolato ligand). |
