abstract | A method of manufacturing a luminescent screen assembly for a cathode ray tube (CRT) is disclosed. The luminescent screen assembly is formed on an interior surface of a faceplate panel of the CRT. The luminescent screen assembly includes a patterned light absorbing matrix that defines a first set of fields, a second set of fields, and a third set of fields. A blocking layer is formed over the second set of fields and the third set of fields. A pigment layer is then applied to the first set of fields. The blocking layer is removed from the second set of fields and the third set of fields to form a color filter in the first set of fields. Another pigment may be applied to the second set of fields to form a color filter therein. |
