titleOfInvention | Treatment and prevention of herpes simplex infections |
abstract | We have discovered that the topical application of the amino acid lysine and the 6-methyl derivative of lysine to Herpes simplex virus Type II is therapeutically beneficial and relieves the discomfort and symptoms of HSV infections and prevents or reduces the number of severity of HSV infections. We have also discovered that derivatives of lysine, in addition to 6-methyl lysine and derivatives of arginine have an inhibitory effect upon HSV replication. These compounds are useful in the prevention and treatment of HSV lesions. |
