abstract The present invention relates to thermoplastic hydrophilic polymeric compositions for making a liquid impermeable moisture vapour permeable structure, for example by forming the composition into a layer or film. The thermoplastic compositions comprise preferred thermoplastic polymers and suitable hydrophilic tackifying resins that provide the thermoplastic hydrophilic composition with a desired adhesiveness or tackiness level, without impairing the moisture vapour permeability of films or layers made from the thermoplastic hydrophilic polymeric compositions. The layers made from the thermoplastic hydrophilic polymeric compositions of the present invention can find a variety of applications wherein liquid imperviousness and moisture vapour permeability are desirable.
