abstract The present invention provides long-lived corrosion resistant coatings for metal substrates. The coatings comprise a chemically stable mechanical attachment interface formed by coating a metal substrate with a seamless thermal spray metallic coating of a Ni-based alloy or stainless steel, and a polymer layer bonded to the metallic interface. The coatings are suited for resisting corrosive environments in process chemistry vessels, furnaces and boilers.
