abstract |
Compounds, compositions and methods are disclosed useful for enhancing penetration of a pharmacologically active substances across skin or tissue membranes. Compounds for use in such compositions and methods are highly water-soluble N-substituted polyalkylene oxide derivatives of cyclic amides. A compound of the invention has the structural formula: n n n wherein m is an integer from 2 to about 6, n is an integer from 1 to about 8, and R is hydrogen, trimethylsilyl or lower alkyl. |
