abstract The ultraviolet/infrared absorbent glass consisting of base glass including: 65 to 80 wt. % SiO 2 ; 0 to 5 wt. % Al 2 O 3 ; 0 to 10 wt. % MgO; 5 to 15 wt. % CaO; 10 to 18 wt. % Na 2 O; 0 to 5 wt. % K 2 O; 5 to 15 wt. % a total amount of MgO and CaO; 10 to 20 wt. % a total amount of Na 2 O and K 2 O; 0.05 to 0.3 wt. % SO 3 ; and 0 to 5 wt. % B 2 O 3 , and colorants including: 0.35 to 0.55 wt. % the total iron oxide (T-Fe 2 O 3 ) expressed as Fe 2 O 3 ; 0.08 to 0.15 wt. % FeO; 0.8 to 1.5 wt. % CeO 2 and 0 to 1.5 wt. % TiO 2 , wherein FeO expressed as Fe 2 O 3 is in a range of 20 to 27 wt. % (excluding 27 wt. %) of T-Fe 2 O 3 . The ultraviolet/infrared absorbent glass plate comprising the ultraviolet/infrared absorbent glass wherein the glass has the visible light transmittance of equal to or more than 75%, the solar energy transmittance of equal to or less than 60%, the ultraviolet transmittance of equal to or less than 15%, the dominant wavelength in a range of 495 to 535 nm and the excitation purity of equal to or less than 2.5%. The colored film-coated ultraviolet/infrared absorbent glass plate prepared by applying the colored film having a red color shade with a thickness between 30 and 300 nm which includes the silicon oxide and the fine grains of the gold onto the surface of the ultraviolet/infrared absorbent glass plate. The window glass of a vehicle comprising at least two glass plates laminated with an inner layer of a transparent resin or a spacing therebetween and at least one of said glass plates employing the colored film-coated ultraviolet/infrared absorbent glass plate wherein the glass has the visible light transmittance of equal to or more than 70%, the solar energy transmittance of equal to or less than 70%, the ultraviolet transmittance of equal to or less than 15% and the chromaticity expressed as a, b by using the Lab coordinates in ranges of −2≦a≦4 and −3≦b≦3.
