abstract | An article for poisoning of termites without poisoning the soil is a cellulose body impregnated with a borate salt. The cellulose body may be wood, paper, or laminated paper that is placed on or in soil. These articles are placed in contact with the soil at spaced apart intervals having a regular interval near a structure to be protected from termite attack, near a termite infestation, or near a termite-attracting feature. The articles are impregnated preferably with a sodium borate salt, such as disodium octaborate tetrahydrate or disodium tetraborate decahydrate. |
