The inducer of SIRT1 expression can remarkably reduce the mortality caused by sepsis or septic shock by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines and increasing anti-inflammatory cytokines. Therefore, the inducer of SIRT1 expression is useful for preventing or treating sepsis or septic shock.
