abstract |
A portable medical data acquisition communication device stores tools necessary for personal therapy and establishing communication with at least some of the tools to read out information and/or with one or more external databases to transmit the information into the databases. The device includes a housing (100′) having a first half piece, a second half piece, a closing element, and electronics (110). The electronics include a power supply (111); a processor unit; a memory unit; at least one short-range communication device; at least one long-range communication device configured to communicate with the one or more external databases; a user interface (120); and at least one trigger signal generating element (123) configured to generate and transmit a trigger signal to the processor unit to effect wake-up or sleep of the electronics (110) when the two half pieces of said housing (100′) get into a certain distance to each other. |
