abstract |
An aerosol delivery device is provided. The aerosol delivery device comprises a control component and a digital compass. The digital compass includes a multi-axis magnetometer configured to measure a magnetic field in an environment of the aerosol delivery device, and generate a corresponding signal that indicates a direction and strength of the magnetic field. The control component or the digital compass are configured to control operation of at least one functional element of the aerosol delivery device based on the direction and strength of the magnetic field indicated by the corresponding signal, or a direction of the aerosol delivery device relative thereto. Control of the at least one functional element includes output of the direction and strength of the magnetic field or the direction of the aerosol delivery device for presentation by a display. |
