abstract The present invention is directed to a novel, low-toxicity and environmentally-friendly violet smoke generating composition. The composition comprises a mixture of at least one red dye and at least one blue dye, a coolant, an oxidizer, a binder, and a non-sulfur particulate fuel that is also a burn-control agent having two different particle size distributions. Preferably the fuel comprises a mixture of granulated sucrose and sucrose 10×.
