abstract Provided are a method of producing a glass-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin molded object by which a special glass-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin molded object excellent in mechanical strength and aesthetic appearance can be easily produced, and a glass-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin molded object obtained by the method. Glass fiber chopped strands subjected to a surface treatment with at least one of a urethane-based sizing agent and an acrylic urethane-based sizing agent, the glass fiber chopped strands each having a fiber length of from 1.2 mm to 1.8 mm, and a thermoplastic resin are each directly loaded into an injection molding machine, and are subjected to injection molding to produce the following special glass-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin molded object. The resin molded object shows a specific fiber length distribution and shows a specific tensile strength, and unopened glass fibers are absent on the surface of the resin molded object.
