Method of conversion of red phosphorous to soluble polyphosphides |
abstract |
Soluble polyphosphides were successfully generated in a number of organic solvents by a reaction between shelf-stable red phosphorus and potassium ethoxide or other nucleophilic activators. The species were identified by 31 P-NMR in solution. The reaction was scaled up to gram quantities by using a flow-chemistry process. |
