titleOfInvention ANTIPARASITAL MIXTURE FOR LOCAL APPLICATION AND METHOD FOR ENSURING ANTIPARASITAL ACTIVITY
abstract The present invention provides, inter alia, novel topical mixtures containing at least one 1-N-arylpyrazole derivative and formamidine, such as amitraz, and methods of treating, controlling or preventing parasite invasion by mammals or birds. The mixtures according to the invention include mixtures of spot-on (withers), pour-on (detergent) or mixtures in the form of a spray, and may also include ectoparasicidal, such as compound IGR, avermectin derivative or millibemycin, or pyrethroid insecticide and / or anthelmintics such as benzimidazoles or imidazothiazoles. The mixture of the invention provides a longer duration of parasitic control at a high rate of control. The mixture according to the invention of the formula remains effective for up to three months from the first application. Moreover, the compositions of the invention prevent the attachment of ticks to the animal, thereby providing protection against tick borne diseases. Ectoparasites that can be controlled, treated, or prevented by the present invention include ixodic ticks, fleas, ticks, scabies, lice, mosquitoes, flies, and bovine larvae. [This invention provides, among others, novel mixtures for topical application that contains at least one 1-N-arylpyrazole derivative and formamidine, such as amitraz, and methods of treating, controlling or preventing parasite invasion by mammals or birds. The mixtures according to the invention include spot-on, fill-on or spray mixtures, and may also include ectoparasic, such as an IGR compound, avermectin or milbemycin derivative, or pyrethroids
