titleOfInvention METHOD OF DEFOLIATION AND COMPOSITION FOR DEFOLIATION OF AGRICULTURAL PLANTS
abstract Simultaneous or sequential application of auxin transfer inhibitor and defoliant synergistically improves defoliation of agricultural plants and minimizes the formation of secondary shoots. In a preferred embodiment, the auxin transfer inhibitor is a semicarbazone compound. The defoliant may be an agent that causes an ethylene or ethylene-like reaction, such as a phosphonic acid derivative. Most preferably, the semicarbazone compound is diflufenzopyr, and the phosphonic acid derivative is ethephon - (2-chloroethyl) phosphonic acid.
