abstract A method of treating chronic generalized periodontitis involves correcting the prooxidant-antioxidant balance using (-tocopherol acetate and ascorbic acid, as vitamins E and C, respectively, used in predetermined amounts, moreover, the additional prooxidant-antioxidant balance is adjusted using 3.44% retinol acetate oil solution as vitamin A, and as antioxidants use the mineral complex "Selenium Active" in an amount of 50 μg, (-tocopherol acetate - in an amount of 200 mg, preparations are used comfort 2 times a day for a month, ascorbic acid - in the form of a 1% solution, while solutions of retinol acetate and ascorbic acid are administered in the gum section every other day by ultraphonophoresis.
