Adhesive composition containing polyvinyl alcohol stabilized butadiene polymer latex and methylene donor compound. Butadiene polymer latex is obtained by emulsion polymerization in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol. The adhesive compositions may also contain other optional ingredients, such as an additional polymeric film-forming component, a crosslinking agent such as a nitroso compound, a crosslinking agent such as a maleimide compound, a vulcanizing agent, and an acid scavenger. Polyvinyl alcohol-stabilized butadiene polymer latex and methylene donor compound in combination give a tightly crosslinked strong film that provides excellent adhesion and resistance to environmental conditions. |
