| abstract | A method of determining the adulteration of condensed milk with vegetable oils includes the use of a saturated solution of resorcinol in benzene. Use a test sample of an aqueous solution of condensed milk prepared in a ratio of 1: 2, in the amount of 2.0-2.1 cm3, to which is added a graduated pipette 2.0-2.1 cm3 saturated solution of resorcinol in benzene (2.0-2 , 1 g of resorcinol is dissolved in 25.0-25.1 cm3 of benzene) and 2.0-2.1 cm3 of concentrated hydrochloric acid, shaking gently. After 5-6 minutes, establish the presence of light purple color of the lower layer and light blue upper layer - for falsification with vegetable oils or the presence of light brown color of the lower layer and white upper layer - in the absence of falsification. |
