abstract The present invention relates to novel derivatives of 6-difluoromethyl-5,6-dihydro-2H- [1,4] oxazine-3-amine as beta-secretase inhibitors, also known as the beta-site precursor amyloid precursor, VACE, VACE1 , Asp2 or memapsin 2. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds, methods for preparing such compounds and compositions and the use of such compounds and compositions for the prevention and treatment of disorders involving beta-secretase, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) , moderate cognitive impairment, aging, dementia, where enets people with Lewy bodies, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, dementia due to multiple infarcts, Down syndrome, dementia associated with stroke, dementia associated with Parkinson's disease and dementia associated with beta-amyloid.
