abstract | A process for the preparation of 5- [4- (hydroxy) phenyl] -1,3-cyclohexanedione EMBED ISISServer is provided, which involves the dealkylation of 5- [4- (methoxy) phenyl] -1,3-cyclohexanedione with iodic acid in acetic acid at boiling until complete separation of methyl iodide for 4.5-5 hours. The product is isolated by adding water. The technical solution can significantly increase the yield of the product, reduce the duration of the process, eliminate the use of flammable, flammable and toxic solvents. |
