titleOfInvention METHOD OF ASSESSING THE CONDITION OF CHAMBERS AND VALVES OF THE HEART
abstract The method of assessing the condition of the heart chambers and the valve apparatus involves a scoping examination. Serial sections are made on one heart in different planes of slices # 1 and # 2, fixing in 10% neutral formalin of the whole heart, which after fixation in formalin is cut in the horizontal plane at the level of the middle part so that two pieces are formed: No. 1, which has the top of the heart and the middle part, and No. 2, which has the middle part and the base. Both pieces are carried out in alcohols of increasing concentration, make paraffin blocks. From paraffin blocks on the microtome, serial sections are made from slice No. 1. The slices are made in the horizontal plane, and from slice No. 2 - in the front plane 5 cm thick. The sections are stained. Histological specimens are photographed using a digital camera through a microscope, which allows one to trace in a piece # 1 the state of the myocardium and the free cavity from the apex to the middle part, and serial sections for a piece # 2 to get an idea of the status of all 4 valves of the heart.
