| abstract | A method of treating cervical pregnancy involves the appointment of methotrexate followed by removal of the fetal egg. Methotrexate is used systemically in the amount of 50 mg, but in a deployed operating room remove the fertile egg using abortion, perform ballooning of the cervix using a Foley catheter. A saline solution is injected into the catheter cuff for 24 hours, after which the catheter is removed, a further 50 mg of methotrexate is systematically injected one day after the fetal egg is removed. Treatment is monitored by monitoring chorionic gonadotropin levels and ultrasound, and the patient is monitored for menstruation. |
