abstract An optical electrical connector includes an insulative housing, an optical fiber mounted on the insulative housing and a metal shell fixed to the insulative housing. A receiving space adapted for receiving a corresponding plug is jointly formed by the insulative housing and the metal shell. The insulative housing includes a tongue extending into the receiving space. The optical fiber includes an optical member located at one side of the tongue and exposed to the receiving space. The electrical connector further includes a shutter member for shielding and protecting the optical member.
