Provided are barium germanium oxide having a band gap of 3 - 4 eV, a manufacturing method of the barium germanium oxide, a sintered body of the barium germanium oxide, and a target made of the sintered body. The barium germanium oxide of the present invention includes at least Ba, Ge, and O, and a crystal represented by a general formula of ABO 3 n(Here, A includes at least Ba, and B includes at least Ge.), which has a 6H hexagonal perovskite structure. |
