abstract The present invention provides a colloidal composition for in situ remediation of hexavalent chromium, in which the colloidal composition includes sulfate, emulsified oil, and a carboxymethyl cellulose solution with a specific range of viscosity. The concentration of the released sulfate is controlled by modulating the viscosity of the carboxymethyl cellulose solution in the present invention, so that the growth of indigenous sulfate-reducing bacteria can be stably enhanced, and in situ remediation of hexavalent chromium can be performed continuously and effectively.
