abstract |
This invention provides a method for making polyamide (PA) powders, which comprises the following steps of (a) heating a composition of matter containing PA granules, crystal seeds, and organic solvent to a first temperature of T1 under 1 atm, (b) holding the first temperature of T1 for a first predetermined time so as to totally solve the PA granules in the organic solvent; (c) reducing the first temperature of T1 to a second temperature interval of T2 so as to nucleate the PA in the organic solvent; (d) holding the second temperature interval of T2 for a second predetermined time so as to increase the amount of the PA nucleus in the organic solvent; (e) reducing the second temperature interval of T2 to a precipitated temperature of the PA powder so as to nprecipitate PA powders; and (f) rinsing the PA powders so as to remove the organic solvent; wherein T1 is equal to and greater than the melting point(Tm) of the PA granules, 20℃≦Tm-T2≦30℃, the ratio of the PA granules to the organic solvent calculated with weight is ranging from 0.11 to at least less than the saturated concentration of the PA granules in the solvent, and the content of the crystal seeds is 1% of the PA granules. |
