This invention provides a titanium dioxide powder excellent in selective transparency function for red light while maintaining shielding capability, and a cosmetics which is formulated with the titanium oxide powder to thereby have covering capability for blotches, freckles and the likes, make the uneven such as pores on a skin be obscure and enable natural makeup. n n The present invention provides a titanium dioxide powder and cosmetic formulated with the same, the titanium oxide powder is obtained by burning a titanium oxide with needle-like protrusions on particle surface thereof at 500 to 800℃, and has an apparent average particle size of 100 to 500nm, an average crystallite diameter determined by X-ray differential analysis of 15 to 30nm, and a specific surface area of 10 to 30m 2 /g. |
