abstract A main object of the present invention is to provide a resin composition for a pillar-like formation which is capable of gaining high solid concentration, good coating properties and a good developability. n n The object is attained by providing a resin composition for a pillar-like formation used to form the pillar-like formation on a pillar-like formation-attached substrate comprising a substrate and a pillar-like formation formed on the substrate that preserves a predetermined distance between the substrate and a counter substrate used in a case of forming an electron element; wherein the resin composition for pillar-like formation comprises a monomer (A), a polymer (B), and a photopolymerization initiator (C), a mass ratio of the monomer (A) and the polymer (B) is within a range of the following: mass of the monomer (A): mass of the polymer (B) = 70:30 to 95:5, and the monomer (A) has HLB value within a range of 8 to 20.
