abstract The present Sn-plated steel sheet is provided with: a base plated steel sheet including a steel sheet and a Sn-plating layer provided on at least one surface of the steel sheet; and a coating layer which contains a zirconium oxide and a tin oxide, and is provided on or above the base plated steel sheet. The adhesion amount of Sn per one surface of the Sn-plated steel sheet is 0.1 g/m 2 nto 15 g/m 2 n. The amount of the zirconium oxide in the coating layer is in a range of 1 mg/m 2 nto 30 mg/m 2 nin terms of Zr metal. The peak of a Sn3d 5/2 nbinding energy of the tin oxide in the coating layer by the X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy is in a range of equal to or greater than 1.4 eV and less than 1.6 eV on basis of the peak of the binding energy of Sn metal. An amount of electricity required for reduction of the tin oxide is in a range of more than 5.0 mC/cm 2 nand equal to or less than 20 mC/cm 2 n.
