The invention provides a muscle atrophy prevention and/or muscle synthesis promotion agent containing, as active ingredients, a milk-derived basic protein fraction and/or a degradation product of a milk-derived basic protein fraction, and a whey protein hydrosylate. This muscle atrophy prevention and/or muscle synthesis promotion agent exhibits remarkable effects in terms of preventing a reduction in nmuscle mass and increasing muscle mass, and is therefore effective in the prevention and treatment of various muscular diseases including sarcopenia and disuse muscle atrophy. |
