A system and method for multi-step processing of one or more precursor compounds into a battery material are provided. The system includes a mist generator, a drying chamber, one or more gas-solid separators, and one or more sequential reaction modules, which include one or more gas-solid feeders, one or more gas-solid Separator and one or more reactors. A plurality of gas-solid mixtures are formed in the drying chamber, the gas-solid feeder and the inner plenum of the reactor. In addition, hot air or hot gas is used as an energy source in the processing system and as a gas source for forming a gas-solid mixture to promote the reaction rate and the uniformity of the reaction therein. The precursor compounds are continuously transported into the processing system, and sequentially processed through the drying chamber and the inner aeration chamber of the reaction module into the final reaction particles useful as a battery material. |
