abstract |
There is provided a multimodal polymer blend having at least three fractions as determined by TREF. The blend comprises a first propylene-based polymer, a second propylene-based polymer, and a third propylene-based polymer; wherein the temperature is eluted by fractional distillation (TREF) The polymer blend exhibits a first fraction which is soluble in xylene at -15 ° C and which has from about 55 mole % to about 85 mole % in the same row (mm) a triad tacticity; a second fraction which is insoluble in xylene or dichlorobenzene at -5 ° C, but soluble in xylene or dichlorobenzene at 40 ° C; and a third fraction It is insoluble in xylene or dichlorobenzene at 70 ° C and has a homogenous (mm) triad tacticity of from about 85 mole % to about 98 mole %. Also provided are a hot melt adhesive composition comprising the polymer blend, tackifier, wax; and optionally a nucleating agent, articles comprising the adhesive, and methods of making the article. |
