abstract According to the present invention, there is provided a resin composition for a display substrate that can form a resin film for a display device substrate having high heat resistance, a moderate coefficient of linear expansion, and high tensile strength. The present invention can solve the above-mentioned problems by including a resin composition for a display substrate containing a polyamic acid having a structural unit represented by Formula (1) and having a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 or more, and an organic solvent. Here, in formula (1), X 1 represents a tetravalent aromatic group of formula (3), Y 1 represents a group represented by formula (P), and n represents the number of repeating units.
