The examples described herein are directed to a polymerization-initiated phase separation (PIPS) composition in a photocurable resin for 3D printing, such as for inks, coatings, and adhesives, to enhance impact resistance. And rheological properties. The embodiments described herein are advantageous in terms of properties such as impact resistance, shear adhesion and bond strength. The PIPS composition may include components X, Y, and Z, wherein X includes a monomer mainly composed of acrylic acid; Y includes a copolymer of block A and block B; and Z includes a polyfunctional crosslinking agent. A method of using the PIPS composition is also described. Also described is a method of screening for potential acrylic monomeric or oligomeric additives that produce improved impact resistance. |
