The invention provides a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display including the polarizing plate. The polarizing plate includes a polarizer and a polyester film formed on one or both surfaces of the polarizer, wherein the polyester film has a tensile strength ratio of 3 or more, as represented by Equation 4, and Directional displacement (°) in the range of -5 ° to + 5 ° with respect to its transverse direction (slow axis) at a wavelength of 550 nm. <Equation 4> Tensile strength ratio = Tensile strength in the transverse direction / Tensile strength in the machining direction. |
