abstract The present invention relates to an infrared emitter including a cladding tube made of quartz glass, the cladding tube surrounding a heating filament as an infrared radiation emitting element, and the infrared radiation emitting element is connected to the cladding via a current feedthrough Electrical connector outside the tube. In order to improve the service life and power density, the present invention proposes that the heating filament includes a carrier board having a surface made of an electrically insulating material, whereby the surface is covered by a printed conductor made of a material that generates heat when a current flows through it.
