abstract An orthodontic appliance includes a base body having a groove on its top surface and a correction line groove for receiving a correction line. The orthodontic appliance also includes a restraint element, wherein the restraint element includes a protrusion, which is located on the bottom surface of the restraint element. The restraint element is movably connected to the base. When the restraint element is moved from the open position to the closed position, the restraint element can maintain the correction line in the correction line groove. The orthodontic appliance also includes a separate spring, wherein the separate spring is located in the groove, and a force is required to move the restraint element from the open position to the closed position.
