abstract The present invention relates to an object containing amorphous carbon particles that support lanthanide oxide nano particles. This object can be used as a medicine in surgical or therapeutic and diagnostic methods. The object can be prepared by the following steps, including impregnating the carbon source material by contacting the carbon source material with a lanthanide salt solution, drying the impregnated carbon source material, and thermally decomposing the dried impregnating material in an inert environment.
