Recovering rare earths from lamp-waste which contains phosphor, where the essential part (preferably more than 60 wt.%) of the phosphor is halo phosphate and rare earth-phosphor, comprises (a) mechanically separating the gross portions; (b) separating halo phosphates; (c) extracting acid soluble rare earth-phosphors; (d) developing the remaining rare earth-containing components; and finally treating the components. |
