This invention provides novel methods for synthesizing a functional PNA monomer unit and functional PNA oligomer which are for incorporating functional molecules in any desired positions directly or post-synthetically through linkers having various lengths under acid, alkaline, or neutral conditions even in the presence of a compound unstable in liquid nature; and a novel functional PNA monomer unit and a novel functional PNA oligomer. The functional PNA monomer unit is represented by the following general formula (1). (In the formula, R represents hydrogen, a functional molecule, or a protective group; and n is an integer of 1 to 11.) |
