abstract |
The present invention provides a manufacturing method of copolyester for PET bottle comprising low acetaldehyde content, which is performed by adding a proper amount of a modifying agent to the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymer so as to reduce the amount of acetaldehyde produced due to a thermal pyrolysis side reaction in a bottle blowing process of PET bottles. The modifying agent includes a stabilizer and a primary antioxidant. Wherein, the stabilizer is an inorganic phosphorus compound in the range of 0.003 to 0.5 wt% based on the total weight of copolyester copolymers, and the primary antioxidant is a Ca(+2)-containing hindered phenol antioxidant in the range of 0.005 to 5.0 wt% based on the total weight of copolyester copolymers. This invention has an improved effect of reducing at least 30% of the acetaldehyde by produced comparing with the case that the modifying agent is not added. |
