A lead-acid battery of the present invention comprises: a plate group comprising a plurality of negative electrode plates, each comprising a negative electrode grid retaining a negative electrode active material layer, a plurality of positive electrode plates, each comprising a positive electrode grid retaining a positive electrode active material layer, and a plurality of separators for separating the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate from each other; a positive electrode connecting part connected to each positive electrode plate of the plate group; and a negative electrode connecting part connected to each negative electrode plate of the plate group. The positive electrode grid, the negative electrode grid, the positive electrode connecting part and the negative electrode connecting part comprises a Pb alloy containing at least one of Ca and Sn. The negative electrode active material layer contains Sb. The separator contains silica. |
