titleOfInvention Material for removing ozone and method for making the same
abstract The present invention is aimed to provide an ozone-removing material, which can be produced at low cost and can effectively decompose ozone, thereby resolving the problems encountered by the ozone-removing materials of the prior art. The present invention provides an ozone-removing material characterized in that an metal or its oxide which can decompose ozone is loaded on an organic, high molecular weight substrate with a polymeric side chain containing an ion exchangeable group in the high molecular weight main chain of said substrate. The ozone-removing material is manufactured by adding polymeric side chains containing ion exchangeable groups to the main chain of an organic high molecular weight substrate, contacting the resulting organic high molecular weight material with a metal salt which can decompose ozone in a manner that said ion exchangeable group can carry said metal ion, and then through performing oxidative or reductive reaction, the microparticles of said metal or said metal oxide being formed on the organic high molecular weight substrate.
