abstract | The present invention provides the following heterocyclic ring-containing iodonium salt of for mula [35], the said salt is useful as, for example, cationic photopolymerization initiator, acid generator for chemically amplifying resist, etc. [wherein, R26 and R27 each independently represents halogen atom, aryl group optionally substituted by halogen or lower alkyl group, a group of formula [2] or a group of formula [3], A3 represents an anion originally from halogen atom, inorganic strong acid, organic acid or compound of formula [4]. At least one of R26 and R27 is a group of the said formula [2] or a group of the said formula [3].
